16. Who asked who out first? I did, both times! Our true first date was in high school and I asked him out. Then the date on Feb. 24th, 2007 I asked him on as well.
17. Who proposed? He did, three times. Once unofficially, once officially, and the last time right before he gave me my ring
18. Who wears the pants? It's equal. Truly.
I tag Nicole, Emily, and Karyn (if they haven't done this already!)

WOW!!!!
So, I have the most handsome husband that exists! (I realize that I may be biased, but can you blame me?) The boys in Brian's family got all decked out in their scout uniforms to have some professional pictures taken. Mom Furr gave me a copy of some the shots and I all but fell on the floor when I saw Brian. I ran around confirming with his sisters that Brian was indeed as handsome as I thought that they were. They all agreed with me (of course) so I thought I'd share the picture with everyone.
Now, Brian's brothers are very cute too. Here's my proof:

Happy One Year of Being Together!!!
So, I find it kind of funny to say that it's my anniversary because that word usually implies marriage or something else (another example escapes me). But today marks the day that my world changed. Here's the story:
I had been interested in Brian at the beginning of last year, but after a few short weeks it was obvious that he wasn't feeling the same type of interest. I had given up on him, but to my chagrin, had already asked him out on a date for February 24th. I had tickets to go to Mountain View High School's "Night On Broadway" and had decided to ask Brian because I knew he wouldn't mind going to something like that.
For a few days before the date, I was searching my brain for an excuse to cancel the date with Brian. I figured that if he wasn't interested, there was no need to waste my time. But nothing came to mind, so I went ahead with the date. I woke up the morning of the date and while getting ready for the day, rehearsed a speech I was going to give him about how I did like him, but I didn't want to date him because I was going to move to California to be a teacher out there. I had come to this decision only after it became apparent that he didn't have any feelings for me.
So, the day came and I waited for Brian to call me. He had asked if he could take me to dinner as his part of the date because I had bought the tickets to the performance. He finally called me at 2:00 in the afternoon and said that he'd be by at 5:00. When he picked me up, I was taken off guard because he looked so good! For those of you that know Brian, he didn't make it a habit of taking care of himself, but that night, he looked amazing. We went to Magleby's and enjoyed a nice dinner and had great conversation. I was so pleasantly surprised at how kind and charmng Brian was. I kept asking myself, "Why shouldn't I date him?"
We went to the performance and everyone thought we were dating and at that point, I was confused myself because I had decided to trash the speech and jump onboard if Brian changed his mind and his feelings for me.
After the performance, we went to my house to watch a movie. He didn't touch me once during the movie, but stayed for a long time after the movie and we just talked. Eventually, after a lot of talking, teasing, and tickling (which was SUPER annoying--the tickling that is...) Brian leaned in to kiss me. Just as he was about to he pulled away and I was confused and embarrassed as he said to me with a smirk on his face, "You thought I was going to kiss you!!!" All I could do was nod my head with my eyes as wide as they go. Well, he smiled and leaned in again and kissed me. That was it. I never wanted to kiss anyone else!
I got lucky. It's as simple as that!

Oh dear, what have I done...
So, I found myself yelling at the dogs and taking away the toy that they were fighting over. I looked them right in the face and said, "If you can't play nice and share this toy, no one gets it!" Since when did these dogs become real children? I half expected them to turn to me and say, "Sorry mommy!" Wow, what have I done? At least they make me laugh at myself, though!
By the way, Buick has been doing so good with house training. We tied some bells to the handle of the screen door and anytime he has to go out, he just walks over and rings the bells. I read about this tip in a magazine and was desperate so I thought I'd give it a shot. The magazine said that you don't even have to teach this to a dog, you just ring the bell when you take them out and eventually the dog picks it up. Well, smart little Buick picked it up in less than twenty-four hours! Shelby on the other hand is content with only going out when Buick needs to. Oh, well, maybe she'll learn some day!

Here they are....
So, here are the rug rats.
He's a four month old lab. As far as we know, he's a purebred, but he's not papered or anything. He's got so much puppy energy and a lot of curiousity. He's got the funniest personality when he hasn't done something that makes you furious. The other day he was nipping at Brian, so Brian put him in his crate to calm down. Well, Buick didn't like that so much, so to express himself he lifted his leg and peed on the crate. It's funny now, but not so much when it happened. Buick is still teething, so he chews on everyone and everything, including Shelby, but she's a good sport about it.
She is a lab/chow mix, but Brian and I think that there is something else in her too. She's a little more mild than Buick, but definitely doesn't let me walk all over her! She has a personality like a cat, the the dexterity of one too! One day we realized that she can climb, so we have had to change her three foot high crate because it just wasn't going to work for her anymore. She is very cuddly when she wants to be, but won't do anything that she doesn't want to. I can get her to sit, but that may be the end of it. I keep trying other things and she won't catch on.

Let's start with Buick.
Which brings me to:
Shelby!
So, there they are. There fun, but a ton of work. I would say that they are about 85% house trained now, which is good because I am so tired of cleaning up their messes! It's been nice to have a little life in our home when Brian is gone, which is often. I hope that I can get through this puppy stage without killing them, though! Here's a few more pic's just for fun.
Whoa, what's this?
So, I finally caved in to the pressure and created this blog. Everyone else seems to have one, so why not us? With the additions of the puppies to our family, it'll be a bit more fun posting things on the blog.
